machine guard, machine guarding, machine guarding training, EHS, environmental health and safety, EHS program development, facilityWalden is excited to announce that we are partnering with the Council of Industry to conduct a training session on machine guarding. Machine guarding is vital for keeping your workers safe if you use equipment with lots of moving parts in your facility. Without adequate machine guards in place, your employees are at much greater risk of serious injury or even death.

Everyone who completes the upcoming training will have learned the basics of building a strong machine guarding strategy for your facility. In the session, you will learn about the different types of machine guarding, the various regulations that apply to it, and how to identify instances in which it must be implemented.

The machine guarding training will be run by one of Walden’s EHS Specialists, Terry Rowley. Rowley has over 30 years of experience in the environmental health and safety (EHS) field, and is an expert in performing facility audits, conducting safety assessments, and developing EHS training programs. He works with clients not only to maximize worker safety, but also to ensure that processes are running as efficiently as possible.

The training is coming up soon: it will be held from 1–2:30pm on Monday, September 25, 2023. If you are interested in attending this session—which is completely virtual—you can register here.

The Council of Industry is an organization of manufacturers in the Hudson Valley, and it conducts frequent trainings to help members stay up to date on the latest developments and industry standards. Walden’s EHS division works primarily with industrial and manufacturing clients, and we are looking forward to sharing our machine guarding knowledge with Council of Industry members (and anyone else who attends the training) so that they can implement the best possible safety programs.
