Walden is very pleased to announce the hiring of Eric Ranhorn, our newest EHS Specialist. Ranhorn works with our EHS division in Connecticut and brings over 15 years of experience to the team.

Ranhorn has held multiple senior health and safety positions across a variety of sectors. Most recently, he worked as an HSE Supervisor for a company in North Carolina that assembles pharmaceutical clean room environments. In this role, Ranhorn administered EHS policies in accordance with both company and OSHA standards, issued hot work and confined space permits, implemented accident and illness prevention programs, conducted site safety audits to identify hazards, and completed reports and ensured corrective actions were taken in the wake of incidents.

Ranhorn has also worked in the combined cycle, fossil, and nuclear industries, and at federal military sites. Titles that he has held include HSE Manager, HSE Senior Specialist, and EHS Specialist 3. Additionally, he has experience in fire service, rescue, security, and medical fields.

Ranhorn has received a variety of certifications, showing his commitment to continuous learning and education. He is an American Heart Association authorized CPR, first aid, and AED instructor; and holds numerous certifications such as open water scuba diving and diver rescue; NC rescue technician; and fire fighter I and II. He has also completed several courses through the CDC on infection and risk recognition and prevention, and through Alison on health and safety topics. (Alison is an online platform that offers numerous certifications for students.)

Since starting at Walden, Ranhorn has jumped right in and is becoming fully immersed on the nuances of EHS in manufacturing and industrial settings. He has been working closely with Terry Rowley, one of our veteran EHS staff members, and is learning a great deal from him. Recently, Ranhorn completed a RCRA/DOT 2023 training seminar and received a certification upon its conclusion.

When working with clients, Ranhorn focuses on collaborating with people at all levels of an organization to ensure that everyone is working together as one unit to implement EHS programs. He also prioritizes bringing his past knowledge and training to a new position. We are delighted to have Ranhorn on the Walden team, and are excited to work alongside him and see him excel in this role!
