JMH-and-Alicia-OBHSWalden Environmental Engineering of Oyster Bay is thrilled and proud to announce this year’s recipient of Walden’s 2nd annual college scholarship award and summer internship to Alicia Romeo!

This award is granted to one hard working and dedicated Oyster Bay High School senior, who is pursuing a B.S. in an engineering discipline at college as well as a career in engineering.

Interested students participated in the engineering competition where they had to submit a 1-2-page proposal on three different approaches to mitigate the temperature of a room.  Each approach had to be backed up and supported with research, interviews, data acquisition, case studies or scientific concepts.

Three finalists were selected for an interview and had to present their final proposals to Walden’s team of Mechanical, Civil and Environmental Engineers on May 11, 2016.

All contestants did an outstanding job, Walden was extremely impressed with all the presentations.

Walden’s P.E Principal, Joe Heaney, presented the award to Alicia at the Oyster Bay High School Awards Ceremony on May 25, 2016.

Alicia will be attending SUNY Buffalo in Upstate New York this upcoming fall, where she will be studying civil engineering. We look forward to having Alicia continue to work with us at Walden over summer break.
