Walden Environmental Engineering (Walden) is pleased to announce that it has promoted two employees to project managers, effective immediately.
Massimiliano Lelli, also a Certified Safety Professional, previously held the position of project engineer. Erica Johnston, Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) held the role of an environmental scientist.
Lelli is an accomplished environmental engineer with a decade of experience in environmental consulting for waste management and transportation, gas emissions/wastewater permits, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, and standards compliance. He has extensive knowledge of pollution prevention and control methods, expertise in air pollution management techniques, hazardous and toxic waste management, and experience in safety practices and procedures as they apply in the manufacturing environment. Lelli also serves as an instructor for internal and external audiences having led training in OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training in a variety of settings.
He has a B.S. in Environmental Engineering from the Universita ‘degli Studi di Firenze in Florence, Italy. As a native of Italy, Lelli is fluent in both Italian and English.
Johnston has many years of experience working as an environmental consultant in the Long Island and New York City metropolitan areas. She has overseen multiple New York City Voluntary Cleanup Program and New York State Brownfield Cleanup Program projects and is adept at navigating developers through the site approval process from application to completion. At Walden, she is a valued member of our Brownfields team due in large part to her skill in the areas of Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, Excavation and Construction Oversight, Waste Characterization, and Soil Disposal Coordination. Her knowledge of regulations pertaining to Brownfields has been a key component of Walden’s success in managing such projects.
She has a B.S. in Environmental Studies from Binghamton University and holds numerous other certifications including Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP), NYSDOL Mold Inspector and Asbestos Inspector.
