EHS, EHS outsourcing, ASP, safety, health and safety, certification, manufacturingEHS Specialist Kristoffer Lubas has achieved another significant milestone in his career, obtaining the highly esteemed Certified Safety Professional (CSP) accreditation from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP).

Late last year, Lubas acquired the Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification from the same body, BCSP. Individuals with the CSP recognition are expected to have advanced knowledge and experience beyond an ASP, which they must submit to BCSP to support their application.

BCSP is a nationally recognized non-profit organization that specializes in EHS (or safety, health, and environmental [SH&E], as they call it). It offers safety practitioners only a handful of official certifications in industries like manufacturing, where Lubas primarily works. Such certifications demonstrate the individuals’ commitment to safety in workplaces and clear subject matter expertise. Those seeking their CSP must test with the BCSP and provide evidence of experience and education.

According to BCSP, the CSP is, for those who obtain it, the “gold standard of SH&E credentials” and one of the industry’s most recognized certifications. Certainly, EHS professionals who have obtained their CSP are able to perform audits of safety management systems, assess risks of processes and procedures, perform accident reports, and other skills critical to practitioners.

This is one of many safety designations that Lubas has successfully pursued, like the Certified Industrial Trainer (CIT) and Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) accreditations. Both of those demonstrate his commitment to helping clients improve their hazardous processes and procedures.

At Walden, we foster an environment of continuous learning and growth, where opportunities to pursue professional accreditations are not just supported but actively encouraged. Employees are urged to collaborate with their supervisors to explore similar credentials that will help them take their knowledge and skills to the next level. We firmly believe that nurturing professional development will enhance the value we provide to our clients and also create a sense of accomplishment among our employees.

Both colleagues and clients appreciate Lubas for his willingness to work hard and dedicate himself to getting and maintaining his certifications. He collaborates closely with Walden’s customers and supports fellow EHS team members to ensure client needs are always being met, proving each day that his enthusiasm for EHS is something that clients can rely on as they seek to improve their EHS programs.

Congratulations to Lubas on this achievement. Walden is excited that Lubas is a part of our team and keeps contributing to our continued success. For more information about our EHS consulting services or our engineering workcontact us today at 516-271-1948.
