2026 First Quarter Stormwater Deadline Approaching

The first quarter deadline for stormwater compliance tasks is near. March 31, 2026 marks the last day of the quarter. Any facility covered by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s (NYSDEC) Multi-Sector General Permit (MSGP) for Stormwater Discharges Associated with Industrial Activity (GP-0-23-001) must complete their quarterly inspections and (if applicable) sampling by the March 31 deadline to ensure violations are not issued and potential fines are not accrued.

Requirements for sampling and monitoring vary based on the industrial processes occurring at each facility. If there is any uncertainty about potential requirements, refer to the MSGP and your site’s Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP).
