On December 23, 2020 Governor Andrew Cuomo made an announcement that $19 million of federal grant money is available to municipalities through the Consolidated Funding Application (CFA). The grants include the Engineering Planning Grant (EPG, $2 million available) and the Green Innovation Grant Program (GIGP, $17 million available).
The EPG focuses on funding planning and preparing engineering reports for Clean Water State Revolving Fund water quality projects, to ready them for future funding applications to cover implementation of the planned actions. EPG awards can range from $30,000 to $100,000 depending on the project type. The GIGP funding can be applied to projects that improve water quality and mitigate effects of climate change. Qualifying projects may include green stormwater infrastructure or optimizing energy/water efficiency. GIGP awards are based on a percentage of the total project costs. Municipalities and other eligible applicants are entitled to apply for EPG and GIGP funds based on the individual grant program requirements.
Do you think you could benefit from this funding? Walden Environmental Engineering is here to help!
We take pride in our grant writing success and helping clients maximize funding awards so they can move forward with essential projects that otherwise would not be possible. Every year, different types of grant funding are made available through many different programs, so Walden is always on the lookout for grant opportunities that are suited to our clients. In 2019, Walden applied for a water infrastructure improvement grant on behalf of a client, resulting in the maximum allowable $3 million grant project award. In 2018, Walden applied for three CFA grants on behalf of a single large municipal client, and all three grants were awarded for a total of $1.5 million towards water quality improvement projects! These are just a few examples of Walden’s grant writing accomplishments, which have helped clients win over $50 million in funding awards over the last 10 years.
Our experienced grant writers can help you determine if any of your planned projects qualify for funding through these programs and complete the CFA on your behalf.
Grant applications are due February 12, 2021 at 4:00 PM.
