Part 360/361-5 Construction and Demolition Facility Permit Renewal

A Construction and Demolition (C&D) debris processing facility in Brooklyn, NY originally retained Walden to complete a permit renewal five years ago, and has been a client ever since. The facility utilizes a custom made semi-enclosed kinematics system to recycle C&D material. Recently, the facility needed to file for a second permit renewal in order to meet the new 6NYCRR Part 360 & 361-5 regulations that went into effect on November 4, 2017.

Walden prepared a complete application renewal for the C&D facility. This consisted of an Engineering Report with multiple drawings of the facility layout, drainage, process flow, etc. and a Facility Manual which included plans such as a Training Plan, a Waste Control Plan and an Operation and Maintenance Plan. The facility was permitted before the new regulations went into effect, which meant they were exempt from some of the new regulations. Walden had to carefully digest the new regulations to understand the changes that needed to be made at the facility in order to comply with the regulations, and which requirements they were exempted from. Walden provided the client with recommendations on what changes could be made in order to continue operating while staying in compliance.

Walden successfully applied for the permit renewal and continues to help the client stay in compliance as more changes are made in the regulations. Walden helps this client with more than just their NYSDEC permit renewals. Walden helps the facility comply with other requirements such as their DSNY permit conditions. We also keep to date on any new regulatory changes impacting the facility.
