Walden is pleased to announce that Matthew Krumholtz and Nicole Morales have joined our team as engineering interns through New York State’s Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) program. Both Krumholtz and Morales are located in the Hudson Valley office. The entire Walden team is excited to welcome them and looks forward to working with both Matt and Nicole on our renewable energy, energy efficiency and environmental engineering work.
Matthew Krumholtz
Krumholtz, from Wappingers Falls, NY, is a junior at the State University of New York at New Paltz, working towards his mechanical engineering degree. While attending the university, his favorite course so far has been “Mechanics of Materials”. “Understanding how materials react to stresses and strains helped me open my view of the world and improved my engineering judgment,” said Krumholtz. During his free time, he enjoys hiking and spending time with family and friends.
Nicole Morales
Morales, from New Paltz, NY, is a junior at the State University of New York at New Paltz, working towards her mechanical engineering degree. While attending the university, her favorite course has been “Kinematics of Machines” because it is a great connection between dynamics and calculus. “Throughout this course I have learned how to analyze machinery linkages in motion. It is interesting to me because many of the analyzed structures are used in real life application. This course has also helped improve my 3D modeling and calculation programing skills,” said Morales. During her free time, she enjoys watching TV, going on sunset drives and getting involved in her community.
Matt and Nicole are two of Walden’s engineering interns through New York State’s Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) program. This NYSERDA program focuses on facilitating student opportunities to work and learn within clean energy businesses or organizations that work in the clean energy sector, renewable energy, solar, energy storage, and distribution. This will include energy efficiency audits and investigations, solar and energy storage feasibility studies and other related research and development topics focusing on applications in the water, wastewater and solid waste industries. Walden is pleased to involve Krumholtz and Morales in these types of projects and to contribute to the advancement of these options for our clients and communities.
Walden’s partnership in the NYSERDA internship program is now well established and will continue through 2022 and into 2023. NYSERDA recently announced plans to continue this excellent student engagement program. Walden will continue to offer these purposeful internships to excellent and hard-working students and is now seeking candidates for the Spring 2022, Summer 2022 and Fall 2022 semesters. If you are interested in similar engineering internship opportunities, please contact Walden today. Walden will continue our focus on providing interested internship candidates the best opportunities for experience and inspiration through the NYSERDA programs and other internship opportunities.
