Robert Ciullo has joined Walden Environmental Engineering as our newest environmental scientist, effective August 26, 2024.
Ciullo brings to Walden over 35 years of experience in the management, operations, and regulatory compliance of nationally (RCRA/TSCA) permitted hazardous waste storage facilities and wastewater treatment facilities. He is adept at developing solid and hazardous waste management plans, stormwater management plans, and metal reuse programs. He is also an expert in National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permitting and review.
As a lifelong environmental professional, Ciullo has a long history of helping facilities that deal with hazardous wastes to ensure they are in compliance with applicable laws, while changing processes and procedures to improve operational efficiencies and save money. He also assists facility operators in performing major modifications and renewing permits. As such, he understands the inner workings of many regulatory organizations, including those at the state and local level.
His experience extends to helping operators understand general provisions of laws, in order to address and implement corrective actions as needed to comply with RCRA provisions. In addition, he also has performed inspections and developed facility waste analysis and characterization plans. His understanding of hazardous waste management has allowed him to train others and develop training material while also establishing preparedness and prevention procedures and handling contingency plans.
Walden is confident Ciullo’s extensive background in hazardous waste management and wastewater treatment infrastructure will prove indispensable to our clients who rely on us to provide guidance in facility operations.
Ciullo has a degree in Clinical Chemistry from St. John’s University. He will work part-time and support all of Walden’s offices and operations.
