Walden Environmental Engineering is pleased to announce that we have been accepted into PSEG’s Technical Assistance Program as a Technical Assistance (TA) Partner, effective immediately. With that, we can provide clients on Long Island with engineering services that may be eligible for a rebate from PSEG. Walden will provide services in the following categories:  Energy Engineering Studies, Energy Modeling, and ENERGY STAR Benchmarking.

As a TA Partner, Walden can help clients by providing technical guidance as they seek to make alterations to their facilities with the goal of creating more sustainable operations. PSEG may provide rebates to commercial (and residential) property owners for engineering and design services/studies and the upgrades themselves.

Recognizing that the cost of some upgrades may present a challenge to property owners, PSEG offers the rebates as a means by which they can incentivize organizations to explore all of the options available to them and understand what the costs will be of such work.

What Qualifies?

While rebates may be available for system upgrades such as HVAC, refrigeration, outdoor lighting, or environmental fan controls, the key driver of most awards will be the potential of the proposed work to save energy. For example, upgrades to expensive HVAC systems could be beneficial when considering the age of the unit and energy usage. However, if the system is not very old, it may be financially prudent to repair rather than replace it. To that end, it is essential that organizations have done their due diligence by ensuring they have performed the necessary engineering work or study that will support their proposal and demonstrate the long-term payback of such upgrades. Those studies are also eligible for a rebate from PSEG if a PSEG TA partner performs them.

To be eligible for any of this funding, proposed projects or studies must meet a host of requirements found on PSEG’s website by clicking the link. PSEG rebates are only available for organizations or individuals who are current PSEG customers as they support the funding through a surcharge in their bills.
