Darren Ikin has joined Walden Environmental Engineering as a Project Engineer. Darren began his career working for Walden in 2006, then moved back to his hometown in Sydney, Australia in 2008. He now brings close to 10 years of varied professional engineering experience to Walden. He has been involved in all aspects of projects including project scoping and planning, costing, procurement, work plan and technical report preparation, health and safety compliance, remedial investigations, storm water investigation and design, creek and wetland remediation, floodplain management, natural resource management, multi-media sampling, subcontractor oversight, data evaluation and client relations/communications.
In his capacity as a Project Engineer, Mr. Ikin is responsible for project coordination, task management and completion of tasks associated with site characterization and remediation activities involving commercial properties, manufacturing sites, underground storage tank (UST) system release sites, releases of hazardous wastes and associated management of environmental activities at these sites. He is also involved in Phase I, Phase II, and Phase III Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), groundwater monitoring projects and construction/site development-related projects.
Mr. Ikin holds Diploma in Project Management, a Bachelor of Environmental Engineering from Wollongong University, Australia and is close to completing a Masters in Environmental Management from the University of Technology from Sydney, Australia.
