Walden Environmental Engineering volunteered at the Mary Brennan INN on June 22nd for Walden Day 2018.

Giving back is a major priority at Walden. We believe in improving the environment and community with our contributions. On an annual basis, the Walden Staff take a day away from work to celebrate the company’s anniversary May 19, 1995 by performing a day of community service.

“We were fortunate enough to have Walden come in today to volunteer,” said Jason Tessler, Mary Brennan INN Manager. “You guys rocked and I hope to see you back!”

The Mary Brennan INN is the largest soup kitchen in Long Island, serving a hot, five course meal to over 200 people every day. The INN offers hot showers, toiletries, household items, a clothing boutique, emergency services and a pantry section for those in need. The CTC program offers services if you need shelter, identification, and even a driver’s license.

A few words from the Walden staff:

“I learned how accommodating the INN is and no matter anyone’s situation they welcome everyone inside.” –Sydney Schandel

“I helped facilitate a movie for the little kids.” –Magdalena Rychtecka

“I helped serve food to the guests of the INN.” –Erica Johnston

“It was an eye opening experience for me.” –Larry LePere

“It was very rewarding to feel like you made a difference in someone else’s life.” –Nora Brew
