Walden is pleased to announce that Enrico (Ricky) Frantellizzi, Project Scientist II, and Wilson Suzuki, Project Engineer II, have recently joined our team. Read on to learn a little bit about each new hire.

Enrico (Ricky) Frantellizzi

Mr. Frantellizzi works out of Walden’s headquarters location in Oyster Bay, NY. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Geology from Stony Brook University in May of 2022. In the course of his degree, he completed classes that included field geology, remote sensing, groundwater hydrogeology, and geomorphology. While still a student, he spent a summer working as an Air Sampling Technician, where he gained experience conducting air sampling for various asbestos abatement projects across Long Island. In this role, Mr. Frantellizzi also worked with abatement contractors to ensure work was completed in compliance with all applicable state regulations and completed and logged all documentation on job sites.

Prior to joining Walden, Mr. Frantellizzi worked as a Geologist for another local environmental consultant. His job duties in this position included completing Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) at properties across Long Island and New York City; performing environmental sampling of various media including soil, groundwater, soil vapor, and ambient air; and conducting oversight of remediation and construction activities on various job sites, including petroleum storage tank removals and underground injection control (UIC) remediation. His experience analyzing data and preparing reports will also help him to provide Walden’s clients with the high level of expertise that they expect.

Wilson Suzuki

Mr. Suzuki is based in Walden’s Hudson Valley office. He grew up in Juneau, Alaska, and attended the United States Military Academy at West Point for his Bachelors degree in Environmental Engineering. Following graduation, he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Active Duty Army, and he attended the Engineer Officer Basic Course at Fort Leonardwood, MO. After course graduation, he was stationed at Fort Drum, NY with the 10th Mountain Division. While an engineer officer, he held various roles, including Vertical Construction Platoon Leader, Maintenance Platoon Leader, and Assistant Operations Officer.

Mr. Suzuki’s varied experiences have taught him how to manage multiple projects simultaneously, interact with various project stakeholders, and resolve issues that arise over the course of a project’s life. After satisfactorily fulfilling his service obligation, he was honorably discharged from the Army in order to pursue a career in environmental engineering. His technical areas of interest include water and wastewater treatment, emerging contaminants in drinking water (PFAS/PFOAs/1-4 Dioxane), stormwater management, post-closure landfill administration, and air pollution control.
