hiring, engineering, engineering intern, engineering career, environmental engineerWalden is very pleased to welcome two summer engineering interns! Kellie Rall (pictured left) and Abbie Kreiner (pictured right) both began their internships on June 2, and will work with us over the next few months. Learn a little bit about our newest team members below!

Kellie Rall

Kellie is our newest intern at Walden’s headquarters in Oyster Bay, NY. She is currently pursuing a B.S. in Environmental Engineering with a minor in Economy, Environment, Development, and Sustainability (EEDS) at The Ohio State University. Throughout her academic journey, she has developed valuable skills in both leadership and collaboration, learning when to lead and when to support her team.

Kellie has a strong interest in microbiology, surface water testing, chemistry, and various global environmental challenges. The EEDS minor has provided her with valuable insight into the importance of a circular economy, particularly through the analysis of life cycle assessments (LCAs), which complements the problem-solving skills developed through her engineering coursework.

Last summer, she worked as a sustainability and marketing intern for a regional produce company, where she contributed to enhancing ESG and KPI reporting and tracked Scope 1 and 2 emissions. Kellie is eager to gain hands-on field experience beyond the classroom and is excited to contribute to the Walden team while deepening her understanding of real-world environmental engineering practices. She looks forward to collaborating on a variety of projects and maximizing her potential for growth and learning this summer.

Abbie Kreiner

Abbie, an intern at Walden’s Hudson Valley office, returns to us for the summer after having worked with Walden throughout her senior year of high school and freshman year of college. Attending the University at Buffalo and pursuing her undergraduate Civil Engineering degree, she is ecstatic to return to Walden.

Some of Abbie’s prior work at Walden includes sub slab depressurization system inspections, GIS mapping of sewage collection systems and wastewater treatment assets, the implementation of asset management programs for wastewater systems, and the production of stormwater training webinars.
