On September 13th the Valley Shore YMCA in Connecticut held its annual charity golf tournament. As with previous years, Turnkey Compliance Solutions (Turnkey), a division of Walden Environmental Engineering, was a featured sponsor. For several years, Mark Morgano, Division Director of Turnkey has helped the Valley Shore YMCA raise funds by asking clients to sponsor a foursome at the event. Morgano is pictured in the photo at left with Gino Clevinger (r) from Walden who also participated in the event.
Throughout the years, a handful of Turnkey clients have also sent employees to participate in this worthy cause. With Walden’s acquisition of Turnkey, there was one more foursome on the course as Walden sponsored a foursome as well. The Turnkey/Walden employees that were there joined other foursomes and all had a good time while supporting a local charity.
The Valley Shore YMCA is a charity and cause-driven organization that works to ensure “that everyone, regardless of age, income or background has the opportunity to improve their health, make friends and develop their full potential.”
With the proceeds from this event, Valley Shore YMCA is able to give scholarships to recipients in the local community. Those funds are used for camp attendance, childcare, and membership to the Y as well as to provide money for other programs.
In addition to the golfing, there were contests that took place throughout the course of the day like a raffle, putting contest, longest drive, closest to the pin, and a hole-in-one.
The Turnkey/Walden teams each have a long-standing tradition of giving back to their local community. In addition to this golf outing, Turnkey sponsors other events in the area such as the 2021 Connecticut Science & Engineering Fair and the East Hampton Rotary Club Sponsorship.
