If you are submitting an application for grant funding through New York State’s (NYS) Consolidated Funding Application (CFA), remember that the deadline is approaching!
Originally, applications for all programs were due on July 28, 2023 at 4 p.m. This deadline still holds for several CFA programs. However, please be advised that the CFA deadline is now August 11, 2023 at 4 p.m. for Environmental Facilities Corporation (EFC) grants (Green Innovation Grant Program and NYS EFC Wastewater Infrastructure Engineering Planning Grant) and the following NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) programs: Water Quality Improvement Project Program and Non-Agricultural Nonpoint Source Planning & MS4 Mapping Program. The deadline for this subset of CFA programs was pushed back because of recent weather events that have impacted communities throughout the state. The July 28 due date for all other CFA grant applications remains unchanged.
The CFA was created to make it easier for New Yorkers to apply for grant funding. With the CFA, you can submit grant applications to multiple programs across different state agencies by populating applicant details only once, and providing other information as required for the specific grants. This simplified application process saves time and resources for applicants. To learn more about the CFA and some of the programs that are being offered this year, click here.
If you are interested in applying for grant funding but are not prepared to meet the upcoming CFA deadlines, there are many more opportunities available throughout the year! Certain state agencies, such as the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and Empire State Development, accept funding applications to various programs on a rolling basis. In addition, grant funding is also available from other sources, including the federal government, nonprofits, and businesses.
