Walden is excited to announce that we have recently added several new staff to the team. Industrial Hygienist Gordon Stratton has joined our EHS group in Connecticut; Office Manager Kimberly Cirello and Project Scientist Michael Tolan are based in our headquarters in Oyster Bay; and Project Scientist Jacub Celestine started in Walden’s Hudson Valley office. We want to extend a warm welcome to all four new hires and are looking forward to working with them and seeing all that they accomplish in their time at Walden! Get to know each individual a little bit more below.

Gordon Stratton, CIH, CSP, ARM, LEED-AP

Stratton is a highly experienced EHS professional with over 35 years in the industry. He performs EHS audits of facilities and is an expert on OSHA regulations, assisting clients with compliance concerns.

As a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Stratton helps clients to mitigate and prevent workplace exposures to various health risks, including diseases and physical and chemical agents. This process includes assessing current operational procedures, assigning relative risk ratings, and developing highly specific control plans.

Stratton develops personal protective equipment (PPE) plans and hearing conservation programs, mitigates noise sources, and assesses and designs ventilation systems. He has worked for a wide variety of clients, including those in the oil and gas, chemical, manufacturing, construction, and pharmaceutical industries.

Kimberly Cirello

Cirello brings over 25 years of experience to the position of Office Manager. She has worked across several financial sectors, including FinTech, accounting, investment, and fund management, as a business and operations management professional.

She is skilled at process improvement, enhancing productivity and performance within cross-functional teams and organizations. Cirello has experience with HR/benefits administration, operational efficiencies, and diversity and inclusion.

She has attained both a bachelor’s degree in business information systems and an MBA with a concentration in project management.

Tolan joins Walden’s Oyster Bay office as one of our two new environmental scientists. He comes to us with over ten years of experience as both a wildlife biologist, where he focused on natural resource management, and a science teacher, with an emphasis on chemistry, geology, and environmental issues.

Currently, Tolan is further honing his scientific research capabilities by working toward his Master of Science in Environmental Science, with specialized knowledge in oceanographic studies and environmental toxicology.
