Walden Environmental Engineering would like to congratulate environmental scientist, Erica Johnston, on passing the Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) exam! The QEP certification is an international, multi-disciplinary, board-certified credential with strict requirements for applicants. The certification requires environmental professionals to have the skills, environmental work experience, and knowledge to solve real-world problems. The QEP exam evaluates the environmental professional by establishing a professional standard and by providing a career track for new professionals entering the field. The certification test determines candidates’ knowledge of general environmental science as well as specialty disciplines such as Air Quality, Water Quality, Waste Management, or Environmental Science Management and Policy. According to the Institute of Professional Environmental Practice, the QEP demonstrates the ability to solve complex environmental problems, awareness of multi-media impacts, broad-based multi-disciplinary understanding of environmental issues, and in-depth knowledge of the certified candidate’s area of professional practice. Furthermore, the QEP is committed to a strict code of ethics, high standards of environmental practice, ongoing professional development, and contributing to the community and professional development.
