Walden is pleased to announce that Chief Operating Officer Joseph M. Heaney IV has successfully passed the Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) exam and is now a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of New York.
Passing the PE exam is one of the most rigorous credentialing milestones in the engineering profession, requiring documented engineering experience, a passing score on the national examination, and a demonstrated commitment to public safety and professional ethics. As a licensed PE, Joe is now authorized to seal engineering drawings and bear legal responsibility for projects, expanding Walden’s in-house capacity to self-perform and formally certify a broader range of civil and environmental engineering work.

Joe joined Walden in 2023 and serves as Chief Operating Officer, leading the firm’s day-to-day operations, business development, and strategic planning. He is a licensed mechanical engineer with a background in the design and construction of HVAC systems for high-rise residential buildings, hospitals, healthcare facilities, and commercial office spaces. Prior to Walden, Joe served as President of Lotus Biosecurity, where he led a multidisciplinary team of energy, mechanical, and epidemiological experts consulting on healthy and energy-efficient building solutions for commercial clients.
