Darren Ikin, CFM
PROJECT MANAGER
Darren has two decades of experience working in the environmental engineering industry, and has held positions at companies based in both the New York metropolitan area and Sydney, Australia. He originally worked with Walden from 2006 until 2008, and then, after moving back to Australia for a few years, he rejoined our firm in November 2015. He was promoted to project manager in September 2025.
Darren is a long-time fixture on many municipal projects and maintains strong relationships with a diverse array of repeat clients, including both municipalities and private companies. He applies his expertise in engineering to projects involving chemical and petroleum bulk storage system permitting and compliance, construction planning and management, environmental monitoring, and coastal issues. He is adept at tank and drainage system design, soil and groundwater remediation, bid document preparation and management, and construction oversight.
Darren has a B.E. in Environmental Engineering from Wollongong University, as well as an M.E. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Technology Sydney. He is a Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) and a NYSDEC Class A/B Certified Operator. He also holds certifications in Stormwater Source Management Control and in the Construction and Establishment of Vegetated Stormwater Management Systems.
