2025 Third Quarter Stormwater Deadline Approaching

As the end of the third quarter approaches, it is imperative that quarterly stormwater inspections (and in some cases, sampling) for your site are completed by September 30, 2025. This applies to facilities that are covered by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s (NYSDEC) Multi-Sector General Permit (MSGP) for Stormwater Discharges Associated with Industrial Activity (GP-0-23-001). Failure to complete quarterly monitoring and/or sampling may lead to costly violations. September 30 marks the deadline after a rather dry few months in the New York Metropolitan area, so ensure your facility is keeping tabs on the date and completing stormwater monitoring and sampling as the weather allows!

Sampling and monitoring requirements for each site vary depending on the types of industrial activities conducted at your facility. Refer to the MSGP and your Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) for details on your site’s sampling (such as sampling locations and/or laboratory analysis parameters).
