Solid Waste Annual Report Submission Deadline Is Approaching

If you own or operate a Solid Waste Management Facility (SWMF), like any of those listed below, this information is for you!

  • Construction and Demolition (C&D) Debris Handling and Recovery Facilities
  • Transfer Facilities/Stations
  • Organic Waste Recyclers/Processors (yard debris/waste composting, tree/wood debris/mulch processing, top soil producing related to composting)
  • Scrap metal processors/vehicle dismantling facilities
  • Municipal solid waste combustion facilities
  • Landfills

SWMF annual reports for 2024 are required to be submitted to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) by March 1, 2025 as per 6 NYCRR (New York Codes, Rules, and Regulations) Part 360 or Part 361.

Failure to submit the annual report will lead to a violation that can result in fines for your facility. Now is the time to work on the report and make sure it is ready by the due date.

Please note that it is important to make sure that you check the NYSDEC website for the most up-to-date forms, as forms for the report can change from year to year.
