Walden is excited to announce the hiring of Project Scientist Lauren Sicker!
Sicker graduated from the University of Delaware in May of 2023. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, with a Concentration in Ecoscience and a Minor in Business Administration.
The classes that Sicker took during college provide a strong foundation for the work that she will be doing at Walden. Her courses have covered topics including conservation and sustainability research, environmental policy and management, and pollution control policy.
While at the University of Delaware, Sicker also gained climate change field experience by collaborating with one of her professors. She helped develop a course on climate change for college students, creating engaging assignments with a focus on sustainability. Part of her work involved researching and updating climate data, including temperature and water level data for a creek in a nearby state park, as well as climate data for the East Coast. Students used this information in an assignment where they analyzed the effects of climate change on the state park.
She also has extensive volunteer experience. Some of Sicker’s past community service includes working to organize food at the Food Bank of Delaware and raising awareness and funds for the B+ Foundation, which supports children with cancer. As a company that is passionate about serving the communities where we are based, we are happy to have people like Sicker who are committed to giving back on the Walden team!
We look forward to working alongside Sicker and supporting her as she grows in her role as a scientist. Walden is currently hiring; view our open positions here and contact us at 516-588-6859 to learn more about the work that we do.
