Walden is pleased to announce that EHS Specialist Kristoffer Lubas obtained the certification of Associate Safety Professional (ASP) granted by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP).
The ASP certification is one of a handful that BCSP grants to safety practitioners who have knowledge specific to industries like manufacturing, mining, or construction. Individuals who seek the certification must take a test administered by BCSP and meet the minimum requirements, which include a combination of experience and education.
Lubas and the other testers present had to demonstrate “knowledge of safety concepts and expertise in fundamental safety assurance methodology.” www.bcsp.org/associate-safety-professional-asp
This certification will help enhance Lubas’ standing as an expert in providing safety audits, creating hazard analyses, and building programs to mitigate risks on client sites. However, this is not his only certification. Lubas is also certified as an industrial trainer with a CIT (Certified Industrial Trainer or CIT) and as a hazardous materials manager (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager or CHMM).
Walden is a company where continuous learning and opportunities to pursue professional accreditations are supported and encouraged. Each employee at Walden is expected to work with their supervisors to explore similar opportunities. We firmly believe that encouraging staff to pursue such professional accreditations results in the best value-added for clients and makes for satisfied employees.
Both colleagues and clients appreciate Lubas for his willingness to put in the hard work and dedication needed to get the ASP. He consistently works closely with Walden’s customers and fellow EHS team members to search for innovative solutions to the most vexing safety challenges while never sacrificing the quality of the work.
He proves each day that his enthusiasm for EHS is something that clients can rely on as they endeavor to build a culture that champions safety.
Congratulations to Lubas on this achievement. Walden is excited that Lubas is a part of our team and keeps contributing to our continued success. For more information about our EHS consulting services or our engineering work, contact us today at 516-588-6859.
