Walden Environmental Engineering is pleased to welcome two new staff members. Joseph Heaney IV has joined as Chief Operating Officer (COO), and Cinthya Vidal is our newest Project Engineer.
Joseph Heaney IV
Heaney has three years of experience as the president of biosecurity firm Lotus Biosecurity and as a consultant specializing in NYSERDA FlexTech-funded work. He also integrated three acquisition companies and built a new revenue stream to perform energy audits.
His previous experience includes working in the construction industry as a technical sales team leader at Trane Technologies. Heaney has also delivered biosecurity and indoor air quality solutions for high-rise residential, hospitality, healthcare, and commercial-use buildings.
He graduated with a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Johns Hopkins University and is currently an MBA candidate at NYU’s Stern School of Business.
He will collaborate with Walden’s team to advance our energy work with governmental agencies focusing on New York City, Long Island, and the Hudson Valley markets.
Cinthya Vidal
Vidal joined Walden as an environmental engineer based out of our Oyster Bay office. A native of Mexico, Vidal currently resides on Long Island. She has a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering and previously worked in the construction and HVAC industries. She recently acquired a Certificate of Qualification for Refrigerating System Operating Engineering from FDNY.
Before joining Walden, Vidal worked for Lennox International in their sales division. She also worked as a general foreman for a construction company, where her duties focused on tasks related to HVAC work.
Vidal’s experience using tools such as AutoCAD, Excel, and Sketchup to interpret data and produce graphs to visualize details will be of value to Walden. She also has a myriad of safety training under her belt, including OSHA 30-Hour Outreach for Construction, eight hours of fall prevention training, two hours of drug and alcohol awareness, and NYCDOB four-hour supported scaffold user training.
