On Friday, September 24th, Walden Environmental Engineering (Walden) once again celebrated International Food Day. The tradition was started by Walden several years ago and allows employees to sample some delicious dishes made by their fellow team members and learn more about where their colleagues are from.
Walden prides itself on being an organization that embraces people from different backgrounds. “I think that a diverse workforce contributes to everyone’s enrichment, both personally and professionally,” said Joseph Heaney, Walden founder, and President. “Since we’ve been doing this, I’ve learned so much about other places, and every year I learn something new!”
Everyone was able to sample treats like focaccia, Irish sausage, sausage rolls, meatballs, pork shoulder, and sweets, as well as libations from all over the world.
This year was especially meaningful as it marks the first time that employees from Walden’s newly acquired division, Turnkey Compliance Solutions, participated along with many new hires. Each year Walden encourages the attendance of all employees as a means by which to help build a cooperative, high-performing team that is filled with people that are empathetic and respectful to the positions of others.
