Walden Environmental Engineering is pleased to welcome Ritugandha (Ritu) Chaugule to the family. Ritu joined Walden a few weeks ago and holds the position of Project Engineer. She has previously held positions with Michigan Technological University, Indiana Department of Environmental Management, and NJ Department of Environmental Protection. 

Ritu’s experience includes technical reviews of Title V operating air permits inclusive of hazardous waste risk modeling protocol and emission calculations. She has also written permits for refineries, pharmaceuticals and manufacturing facilities, and universities. In her previous roles, she provided technical support during permitting and construction reviews; served as the agency liaison with facility owners, engineers, and contractors; ensured that construction plans for solid waste facilities met the requirements of the agency; and performed visits to inspect construction work as it pertained to landfills. 

With a solid interest in environmental engineering, Ritu has taken courses related to air pollution, environmental economics, green building, solid and hazardous waste management, and water and waste engineering. She has a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering from India and a master’s degree in sustainability from Michigan. Ritu most recently obtained an executive degree in Corporate Sustainability Management from Yale School of Management and is also an active member of the Society of Women Engineers.
