Is your facility required to be covered under a State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) multi-sector general permit (MSGP)?
If your facility’s operations fall into one or more categories listed in 40 CFR 122.26(b)(14)(i-ix) and (xi) you will need to evaluate:
You may not be required to file an application for MSGP or not be eligible for coverage under MSGP if:
** If you are not eligible for the MSGP coverage, you may still need to seek coverage under an individual or a special SPDES permit.
** If you are eligible for an MSGP, you will need to have a Notice of Intent (NOI) filed with NYSDEC and a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) prepared for your facility by a qualified professional.
What to do after your SPDES permit is issued:
If you are not eligible for a MSGP, but do need a SPDES permit, an individual application needs to be filed by a qualified professional.
